/makes a male rit.
If I could I would join "Shiro" himself and hunt for those 3 heroes. After taking those 3 out. I would take out Shiro the same way he did the Emperor in the vid. choose my time wisely and backstab ftw!

.-SwEEt REVENGE!

That reminds me: Watching it again, this is like "The Highlander", Whomever you kill, you absorb their power or w/e it is in the vid. Shiro was absorbing everything, 'til the 3 took him out...too bad no "lightning" though...haha.

Thats one of the coolest cinematics I've ever seen for any game, hands down.

I have to argue with you on the part that they took him out. It seems like he imploded and with all the energy he had gathered up sent a large death wave through many acres. Very nice cinematic, and I hardly ever say good things about anime sort of fighting. BTW what skills was that? lol jp

Anets marketing that works

What is really factions, "GuildWars with New stuff" wow "enhance" GW but marketing makes it wow "New Game" and look at these cool jobs you can play.

Aka not GW 1.5 but GW (Brand New) so it works
In fact I doubt to see the words "Chapter X anywhere box".
To sell the game every 6 months, it has to be a "new" game not add-on.

Aka I don't need to rely an item like that wimpy lich from Chapter 1. I am uber cool.

To be honest it looked like the emperor held some sort of power that he wanted (and got) until the assasin let the power "out".

Anyone else notice how the blood or whatever looked like coins and feathers? Maybe it was just because everybody's robes were jingling with the stuff at the time they were killed. Still, GW does fine without blood.

Excellent trailer, reminds me of the cinematics in Warcraft III.

4.8/5

-0.2 because the poor pigeons were turned to jade...

The implosion was a tad strange...so much for a ghostly wail. You would expect such to be more of an ethereal sort of curse than a giant explosion. Still, it did seem like the emperor held some power within him, and the assassin gained said power upon slaying him. Gathered with the red magics he conjured himself, and possibly the energy from the souls of those he killed (200 years ago, they had one inch soul batteries. Now the world has forgotten how to make them and have to have them as bulky as the ones by the Door of Komalie and Bloodstones) was enough to unleash such.

It's a great idea... each Chapter marketed as a new game will attract new customers, who will then want to buy future Chapters, until Guild Wars victory is complete!

Anyone noticed that the guy in the big robes at the beginning looks a bit similar to High Summoner Braska (FF-X)

oh I'm not going to rest until I have BLOOD! for the death of the ritualist. She was only trying to ring the bell and he struck her down from behind... I won't rest I swear it. This is my vow.

Oh and yeah.. definatly some FFX simularity.

I wish I could watch this, but I'm having trouble watching any video downloaded from guildwars.com, whether it is the large or small versions of the cinematic or the gameplay videos. None of the videos will play with audio, and they stutter like crazy every 3 seconds.

Evidently only I'm having these problems, but I'd appreciate it if anyone could help. Every other video that I have on my computer plays fine...including 700 MB Divx encoded ones...>.>

Bleh... the video was pathetic. I mean really... "Evil has waited, for the rite time, to strike (bunch of crap cinematics ala Diablo), evil was defeated, now evil has returned..." Or something in that fashion. Give me a BREAK! The supposed Wail that turned everything into jade and stone wasn't even a wail it was more of a Sauron death meets Bad Hair Day Emperor Assassin. This guy is like the most pathetic looking villain ever. The one thing he really really needed is a BARBER. I didn't even like the faked accent speaker. They could've at least hired some1 with believable accent and a pleasant tone of voice. Disappointment. Total.

As for what we so far know about the story- GW story was pathetic, Factions one, by the looks of it, is going to hit another low in terms of pathetic storyline. What's after the Evil Vezir and the Traitor Bodyguard? The Evil Witch? (don't tell me, I guessed the plot for Chapter 3). I clearly, clearly do hope that they give up on making storyline altogether. Not like they can ever reach the depth and level of satisfaction studios like Bioware have. So just make it a PvP game with loads of monsters to kill for PvE-ers. Same thing, saves you money on storywriters.

Thank god they adding new skills and new game mechanics to the game. I'll make sure to press ESC key when my Factions CD loads, since I can't possibly stand to watch this "thing" again.

I have to save them to a file since they're zip files. I couldn't figure out how to get them to work, but I was able to watch the quicktime versions on gametrailers.com
